More Tow Calls is an independent site for people who own towing companies. It exists because tow operators get pitched harder than almost any local trade and shown numbers almost never.
Who writes it
Steve Meitler is the editor. He has spent the last several years running growth campaigns for local service businesses, towing companies among them, and has sat in enough dispatch offices to know the difference between a marketing problem and an answering problem. Most of the time it is the answering problem. Everything published here is written so an owner can check it, argue with it, or run it himself without hiring anyone.
Where the benchmark numbers come from
The benchmark report is built from public Google Business Profile listings. We search Google Maps for towing companies in every state, capture the public fields on each listing (review count, star rating, whether a website is linked, listed hours, primary category, city and state), remove duplicates by Google place, and compute the statistics. Nothing comes from behind a login and no reviewer names or personal details are stored. The dataset currently holds 23,074 listings across 49 states and is refreshed monthly.
Collection at that scale is never perfect. Some listings are service-area profiles with no storefront, some are body shops and repair shops that also run a wrecker, and a small number are stale. Treat every figure as accurate to within a point or two, not to the decimal.
Editorial rules
- No pay-to-play. Nobody can buy a mention, a recommendation, or a spot in any list here.
- Every number is either from our dataset or from a primary source such as Google's own documentation. Where a paragraph is opinion, it says so.
- Guides are written for an owner who is also driving. If a step cannot be done between calls or handed to a dispatcher, it does not go in.
- Guides get updated when the platforms change, and every update is dated.
How the free trial works
The site is funded by the marketing work we do for towing companies. Every service is offered as a free 14-day trial because an operator should watch the phone ring before paying anybody. You text or call, say which service you want to try (Google Ads, Meta ads, AI search optimization, local SEO and Google profile work, a website, social media, review generation, missed-call text-back, email and SMS, bookkeeping, or appointment setting), and it gets set up inside your own accounts, usually within 48 hours of a short setup call.
It runs 14 days. There is no card on file and nothing renews. At the end you keep it at a price quoted before the trial started, switch to something else, or stop and keep whatever was built.
Text or call (385) 832-6175, or use the free trial page.
